Nrō-ho̠ Vrët (/nroː/ /ho̠/ [queen] [electromagnet]) is a subtropical Large Town located in the Fle̜költyo Moot of the Viceroyalty of Rosid.

The name Nrō-ho̠ Vrët is derived from the Wood Elvish language, as Nrō-ho̠ Vrët was founded by Ditela Shruzraneil, who was culturaly Wood Elven.

Climate

Nrō-ho̠ Vrët has a yearly average temperature of 16°C (60°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 29°C (84°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cold 4°C (39°F). Nrō-ho̠ Vrët receives an average of 162 cm/y (63 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the fall. Nrō-ho̠ Vrët covers an area of nearly 6 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 3862 m (12670 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Nrō-ho̠ Vrët was founded durring the early 14th century in winter of the year 1327, by Ditela Shruzraneil. The establishment of the new community went well, though many minor issues had to be solved as time went on. This was enough to delay construction and push back the formal opening ceramony, leading to some embarisment for Ditela Shruzraneil.

Nrō-ho̠ Vrët was built using the conventions of Wood Elven durring the early 14th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Nrō-ho̠ Vrët is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Nrō-ho̠ Vrët is was constructed arround several narrow cobblestone mainstreets which cross one another at certain axies, with smaller streets branching off of them to premit acess to the many buildings deeper into the road network. The overall fashion is remenessent of a circulatory system, or other organic construct, and is quite effishent in its design. The town sits comfortably behind a palisade wall complete with a timber gatehouse and battlments. Astonishigly, the timber-based walls are in pristine condishion, as if they had just been finished before you laied eyes upon them.

Nrō-ho̠ Vrët has a very calm atmosphere. People can be seen relaxing, scocilizing, and going about all manner of business other than the daily grind. Men, women, children, all can be seen enjoying life in a laid-back way in the many parks which line Nrō-ho̠ Vrët’s streets. The town is very clearly a joyfull place as well as relaxing. Music can be heard often, as well as laughter. The smell of food and drink permiates the air. You can’t help but smile.

Civic Infrastructure

Nrō-ho̠ Vrët has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Nrō-ho̠ Vrët. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Nrō-ho̠ Vrët's parks.

Nrō-ho̠ Vrët has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Nrō-ho̠ Vrët.

Nrō-ho̠ Vrët has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.

Nrō-ho̠ Vrët has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

Nrō-ho̠ Vrët has a Hall of Slayers, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

Nrō-ho̠ Vrët has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Nrō-ho̠ Vrët's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Nrō-ho̠ Vrët possesses a Galvanic Power Grid, which brings galvanic current to most if not all buildings in town, and permits a great many consumer goods to function within the Large Town. Nrō-ho̠ Vrët's grid is powered by hydrogalvanic generators.

Nrō-ho̠ Vrët possesses an older civil lighting system consisting of street lamps. In spite of the Galvanic Grid, these lights continue to use their old fule sources to provide nighttime illumination to all city streets.

Nrō-ho̠ Vrët has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Nrō-ho̠ Vrët's natural decorations nor waterways.

Nrō-ho̠ Vrët has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Nrō-ho̠ Vrët has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Cultural Notes

Nrō-ho̠ Vrët's bank was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is characterized by grandeur of scale, simplicity of geometric forms, dramatic use of columns, and a preference for blank walls. This design ethos extended to re-imagining earlier styles of structure to create them anew, with a similar overall look and feel to one another..

In Nrō-ho̠ Vrët rain occurs in reverse with water pooling up from the earth then falling into the skies to from clouds, this unsettles every visitor that sees it.

The Magmin near Nrō-ho̠ Vrët are known to be almost tame, such that they can be put to domestic use.

Nrō-ho̠ Vrët's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in autumn and involves bloodletting to channel Necromancy energies of tier 2 via moments of science.

Nrō-ho̠ Vrët was unknowingly built atop something unstable, and now that substrate is crumbling. It may be swampy ground or a decaying coastline, or it could be an ancient buried city that’s now giving way. In the case of some antique habitation, the denizens that once lived there might be boiling upward as their home is collapsing, or new opportunities may be revealed even as the community’s present structure is ruined.

Nrō-ho̠ Vrët's is something of a geological and arcane anomaly, as neither physical nor magical law entirely explains its formation.

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century the Kami ended a drought plaguing Nrō-ho̠ Vrët. One of Nrō-ho̠ Vrët's local festivals commemorates this miracle.
